January 20, 2008 --
Curated by Raoul De la Sota, this exhibit brought
together 14 local artists
who share a common interest in the unseen world,
and who explore, in varying degrees, the duality of
a symbolic, non-material reality existing
side by side with the contemporary
urban experience. I contributed five
works to this show -- three oil paintings
at the main gallery space at Barnsdall Art
Park, and two additional works (including
the power-hungry sphinx to the right) that were
on display at the Los Angeles International Airport

You Are Here at Bandini Art
in Culver City: Nov 3 - Dec 8, 2007
Bandini Art Gallery
in Culver City featured over a dozen of my works on paper,
in a two-person show with assemblage artist Ashley McLean Emenegger.
Called
You Are Here,
this exhibit explored issues of
presence, perspective, and impermanence. My contribution was a series of
watercolors that combine fictional scenes of impending
disaster with word play and dark humor.
Although the show is down now, a few works are still available in the back room if you want to stop by.

More about me:
I am a visual artist in the Los Angeles area. I have been passionately making art all my life, and I am fortunate to have a family and friends who humor me in this obsession. Over the past decade and a half, I have exhibited my art work in over fifty solo and group shows, in L.A. and around the country. These days I'm working steadily on my ongoing series of mock elegies in watercolor, starring all the bugs in my studio.
Here are some more samples of recent work. Thanks for your interest...
