Paul Shelton hails from Winter Park, Florida, with a passion and charisma that cannot be overcome. With a drive that only seems to intesify each passing day, Pauly has taken the Johnny Cash approach - play each show like it is your last. His lyrics take priority. "I'm a poet first and then a musician. I think that's the way most of us are." Ranging from past mistakes and experiences to the hope for a better future, each song is empathetic. "We've all seen or experienced things that trigger a relative emotion. When I listen to Sevendust's Angel's Son, I know where they're coming from. They lost a loved one and probably felt like there wasn't a proper 'goodbye'. Hearing that reminds me of losing my grandmother and I can totally relate. I've been told people really know where I'm coming from after they've heard me play. One lady emailed me that she cried after hearing me play [Closure]. She felt it. That's kinda what I live for - performing and getting the crowd involved."
Though he has been compared to such vocalists as Chad Kroeger (Nickelback), Sully Erna (Godsmack), and Brent Smith (Shinedown), his influences originated with the Beatles. His taste in music is what molds him. It isn't hard to hear such influences like Days of the New or Sevendust prevalent in his music. Bands like Cold and even the Goo Goo Dolls have been influential in the lyric and emotional aspect of his writing. After a year with the all original band Unit 25, Pauly has taken a leave to re-pursue what started it all.
David Kelly as in firehouse david kelly or a different one?lol It's life i'm hanging in there. I was going to come see one of your shows a few weeks ago that you had posted. Hows your life?
We really liked "Falling" and your overall sound. We did not see any October listings on your current schedule but if you have any shows then, we would like to feature them on our global map on www.worldmusicdays.org and you as an artist on our site. All that is required is a dedication to "Harmony for Humanity" from stage or in the printed program. We hope to hear from you soon.
Hey Bro, I cant wait to come back home again and go to some shows. I have soo many ideas for this new project but i cant get it down on paper the way i want it to. Keep me posted on the Music. really looking forward to some new songs and cds, anything really. You're songs are really motivating. Help me cope (not that kind of cope-ing douche) with this place.
