My music bio covers a collage of media over 4 decades, from my roots of singing the whole Torah portion by heart at my Bar Mitzvah at age 12; to singing in High School with the local version of the "New Christy Minstrels" named the Jewish Minstrels; to performing with my college's barbershop group entitled the Carleton Knights;to a one night gig as lead singer in the EMS band called Paul Stiegler and the Arrhythmics(was prior to Annie Lennox); to numerous leads in musicals such as You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, Guys and Dolls, Man of La Mancha, Little Shop of Horrors, A Little Night Music; to being the cantor at my ecclectic synagogue in Apple Valley, CA; to formal training with an opera tenor at UW Madison and performing with the Madison Opera Chorus in "Tosca" and "The Elixir of Love"; to an extemporaneous duet with a Paris street performer singing "Se tu Mami"; to singing "Sympathy for the Devil" and "Jumping Jack Flash" in Jagger apparrel with a local band at my 50th Birthday Party; and now to my most recent passionate avocation of songwriting after having a life changing experience at NSAI's Songcamp and Songposium. I will be writing and experimenting with many forms and genre of music and look forward to collaborations of all kinds.
