Influences
Just check out my friends! Their music, style, and artistry have had a profound impact on my music. The great music of the 60s, 70s, 80s, Quincy Jones, Miles Davis, Ramsey Lewis, Chick Corea, Donnie Hathaway, Bob James, Herbie Hancock, George Duke, Jimmy Smith and many others. All of these artists have influenced my individual style and voice.
In the studio, my major influence is engineer, Bruce Swedien, and producer, "Q" of course. I had the honor of watching Bruce work in the 70's in Chicago at the legendary Brunswick Recording studios, "Chess" on Michigan Ave.

Smooth Jazz Artist, Paul Taylor III, just released his latest CD, "A Night To Remember." The CD which is currently being packaged features 8 smooth jazz cuts that feature the electric and acoustic piano stylings of Taylor.
Last year, Paul Taylor III, released his CD, "All For You", for IA Music Group Records. "All For You" features Taylor on piano and various electric keys. Paul Taylor III also produced and engineered the entire project. The album has six smooth funky piano grooves that fit the smooth jazz genre perfectly. The CD was very successful on internet radio holding the top 10 through to 40 spots on internet jazz radio stations for most of 2007 and the early part of 2008.
Paul Taylor III was born and raised in Chicago and had early musical influences from local and major artist that performed in the Chicago area. Taylor, who also plays drums, played with R&B groups and Gospel choirs in Chicago and throughout the Midwest. In 1972, Paul Taylor played drums for the Beautiful Zion Inspirational Choir, who had a top charting gospel hit "I'll Make It Alright." In 1974, Taylor recorded with the choir on their next release "Ride To The Mountain Top" at the legendary Brunswick recording studios. The project was engineered by Bruce Swedien.
In the late 70's Taylor worked in broadcasting in Southern Illinois and the Chicago area, but he continued with his music career as a side musician. The early 80's found Paul Taylor in Dallas, Texas playing drums with various Jazz groups; Above and Beyond, Scruples, Jazz Z, and many others. In the 90's Taylor made the move to piano and keyboards.
Currently Paul Taylor performs as a solo act, plays with the R&B funk band, The Brim Brothers, and continues to work in Gospel music. Paul also produces several other artist and runs his own studio.
