In the astral planes we find a great ocean of universal images that have been produced by millennia of interaction between the mind of man and the cosmic will. The great psychologist C.G.Jung called this inner ocean the collective unconscious, a realm containing "the whole spiritual heritage of mankind's evolution, born anew in the brain structure of every individual. Jung's visionary ideas explain why certain myths, stories, and dreams are held in common by diverse peoples all around the globe. He called these images emerging from the unconscious (or astral world) archetypes.
