Interests

  • General

My interests are art in general; books, History, ancient civilizations (Egypt, Greece, Rome) Archaeology and Paleontology. I also try to keep up with the latest advances in technology, especially everything related to computers.

I must clarify; keeping up with technology doesn’t mean buying every last I-Gadget that comes out. It’s about being informed, not jumping into the consumerist bandwagon.

I always try to find time to read a book. Not just in electronic form but also the real ones (the ones you can smell) Books are among the few material things I can get attached to. I prefer non-fiction books about a variety of themes (from science to philosophy) and fiction that has some substance. I have an interest in religions because they play a very interesting role in human life, not because I have faith in any particular one.

I'm NOT interested in politics, basically because there are no politics anymore. What we have today is an entertainment show with hollow puppets reciting speeches someone else wrote for them. I had to reluctantly delete some friends from my list because they kept shoving their political views on everyone’s faces.

So please, keep your “activism” for yourself. If you think bumper stickers and catchy slogans will change the world you are staring at the decoy while the big picture unfolds behind your back.

About me:

I'm Pavel, creator of the Web Comic FUTUREPIG.

Besides writing and drawing my comics I work fixing computers and creating marble mosaics.

About the Comic

Pinton, the (anti)hero of the comics, is a pig with a taste for adventure, beer and females of any species. Pinton makes a living as starship pilot and mercenary traveling through space with a crew composed of a little green armless engineer, a surgeon who lost his medical license and a robot he found in a junk yard.

Who I'd like to meet:

When I receive "friend requests" from people I don’t know, I check out their pages and decide if I should add them or not. Adding unknown people usually results on an avalanche of spam in my inbox, so I have become cautious choosing who I accept.

A simple look at people’s pages gives me hints on whether I should add them or not. A profile adorned with flashing images of drug paraphernalia, retarded pop icons and/or lame political propaganda will make me hit the "deny" button.

If you tried to ad me as a friend in the past and I denied you, don’t take it personally. Maybe it was just an error. Send me a message and tell me who you are.
