After some soul searching, the name PAX KOAN was chosen- Buddhist words pertaining to peace, the search for meaning, and the ultimate, paradoxical states of enlightenment.
The band went through a reformation and released a three-song demo in the summer of 2009 and committed to discovering what makes them tick as musicians, as individuals, and as a collective.
2010 has been a big year for the band, which now stands as a five-piece with new members Mitch Ryan on bass guitar, and Daniel Booth (Tyrone) taking over guitar duties for Chad.
Having played regularly at some of Sydney’s live music institutions (The Annandale, The Metro, The Lansdowne, The Fitzroy), the band took the next leap with the release of a six-track EP on August 1 2010 as part of a packed gig at The Argyle for the official 2010 Dry July after party.
