About me:

I was born in California but grew up in Las Vegas, NV. Sin City was my home for about 30 years as I found my career working in television news media. I used to be extremely obese, but through sheer determination I lost the weight and will always live an active lifestyle. One of my goals was to earn a black belt in Shaolin Kempo, and after much effort I did it, along with a journey to China to visit the Shaolin monastery! I hold a B.A. in philosophy and theology from the University of San Diego and an A.A. in communications from the College of Southern Nevada. As a side note, I studied in the Roman Catholic seminary for 2 1/2 years, but am now a humanist in belief and trade. My amazing wife and I met over ten years ago and after years of friendship we were married in 2006. We are now serving our country as United Stated Peace Corps volunteers living in Romania.

"When you have once seen the glow of happiness on the face of a beloved person, you know that a human being can have no vocation but to awaken that light on the faces surrounding them. In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer." ~Albert Camus

Who I'd like to meet:

People who embrace life and pay it forward...

Enneagram 9

Type 9: The Peacemaker
Receptive, Reassuring, Agreeable and Complacent

Nines are accepting, trusting, and stable. They are usually creative, optimistic, and supportive, but can also be too willing to go along with others to keep the peace. They want everything to go smoothly and be without conflict, but they can also tend to be complacent, simplifying problems and minimizing anything upsetting. They typically have problems with inertia and stubbornness. At their Best, nines are indomitable and all-embracing; they are able to bring people together and heal conflicts.

Key Motivations: Nines want to create harmony in their environment, to avoid conflicts and tension, to preserve things as they are, and to resist whatever would upset or disturb them.

TABC is the certification you have to get to serve alcohol in Texas. Fun fact : a minor can drink at any age in Texas as long as they are with their parent or guardian

Actually, it's been taken over by a 4 yr old and 6 yr old little girl, a new kitten, not counting the original occupants of the house : my fat lazy cat, my psychotic 1 yr old, my never-here-cause-he's-working husband, and my alway-here-cause-my-husband's-working roommate.  I treasure the three work shifts I get every week

you would be the coolest aunt & uncle in the world! I've told him about space camp before & he's enthralled with it. The other day he read that the sun was going to die in a few billion years & he was very frightened about it. When I told him that we would be in heaven by then, I freaked him out even more because he realized that he would die eventually (after a long happy life!) Matt finally calmed him down by telling him we would just fly up & re-fuel the sun w.
hydrogen gas :-) sooo much fun!

We did! Thank you!! Jason thinks it's totally cool that you guys got to stay in a castle.. he still knows who you & Auntie Heather are :-) His big thing now (besides the usual Star Wars & Ben 10) is anything space related- he's obsessed with it! He wants to be an astronaut & the first man on Mars.
I need to start making more $$ !!

Where else can we go? Starbucks is going to be home for me no matter what town I'm stuck in.
My son hates it, but that's only because there aren't a whole bunch of cute grils to flirt with

yeah, and my manager scheduled me against my availability so I had no babysitter. Instead of rescheduling me, he said it was my problem, so I had to quit.
My son out-ranks any job, especially with a manager as douche-y as that guy

Working at a restraunt called cheddars. Kind of like TGIFridays, only with a nicer decor and much better food. Here's the part that will make you laugh: my job title is Quality Assurance, or QA. My job is to make sure that the orders are filled correctly, which means I have to memorize the entire menu., and I have to make sure that none of the servers hijack each others orders.

The guy that was training me said that I was making him look good, and by the end of the shift he told everybody that when I said I was a fast learner, that it wasn't bullshitting.
Unfortunatly they have no respect for my scheduling restrictions (I still have to watch my son during the day while the hubbys at work) so we're doing our best to cope on a short term basis, and hoping that I can make enough money for a daycare/babysitter eventually

So when do you guys get home? You have to come meet my Monster and my husband!!!
  • Mar 28 2009 3:27 PM

I'm too much of a pussy and a pushover for either of those jobs. Border patrol tho... Now I've met the pussys that they hire for that bang-up job
  • Mar 26 2009 3:04 PM

Thanks, we really really need it right now. Like need it to the point that I've considered work for the government in some way or another. And you know how much I would love to NOT join the military...

Anyways, thanks again. Hope you guys get to come home soon.
    I miss you

    Let's study together & share.
    Tag, you're it!
