About me:

..PaydayPERX has been around under a couple different names since 1999. Originally we were placing local advertising on the backs of paper payroll check stock in the Ohio/Indiana/kentucky market. We'd be paid by advertisers, we used that to pay the printers and kept the difference as profit, and we gave the payroll stock for free to any company that wanted to receive it. We continue to do this today and every month we provide well in excess of two million payroll checks free to businesses all over the country, from small staffing agencies in Cleveland to national companies like United Airlines and Darden Restaurants. But it certainly started smaller than that!

The trend towards electronic paycheck distribution made us rethink our future growth plan, however, so two different things happened. First, we picked up a lot of national distribution to make our check-back real estate more attractive to larger advertisers. Second, we focused on growing our payroll check distribution in demographic ranges of annual incomes less than $50,000.

Third, for employers with employees making an average of more than $50,000 each, we created a employee discount system that is, essentially, a turnkey custom website for employees to save on purchases they make online. Rather than providing check stock, we provide a free website, and rather than trying to advertise on an electronic check, we just post a link to the custom site for that company on their electronic checks (if they have them) or in their internal newsletters, intranet, etc if they run standard payroll.

The other component of PaydayPERX - and its a big one - is our free W-2 envelope program. As if free payroll stock isn't enough, we can also supply free W-2 envelopes to any employer who wishes to get in on the program. Just as advertisers pay for payroll stock, we have major tax preparation service providers placing a great coupon ($20 to $30 off tax prep services, depending on the franchise) right on the envelopes. They pay us to distribute the ads, we pay for printing and keep the difference. Employees save on tax prep, employers get to eliminate another cost of doing business off the bottom line, the advertisers get more business, and everyone wins, again!

The unifying principle for employees is great discounts from great merchants - they get to save money every payday. Employers, too, save every payday, because their payroll stock costs are eliminated. Some employers have even turned their payroll from an expense into a profit center by running inserts in their payroll and getting a rev share, earning something for each insert that gets placed into a payroll envelope for employees.

For advertisers, the unifying principle is advertising inside the corporate border. and they get to profit every payday, as employees receive their special advertisements and coupons with their paychecks - the next best thing to printing your ads on actual money - and they get them every payday, for maximum positive association and mindshare with a huge, captive audience and virtually no wastage for the advertiser.
