I often play with Rich Chorne, Randy Jones, Jamie Estes, Frank Potter, Pete Davis, Styve Homnick, Sam Shackelford and Aaron LaCombe from the Ruidoso area.
Influences
Jerry Jeff Walker, Townes Van Zandt, J.J. Cale and of course, the Beatles to name a few.
Sounds Like
My influences have had a definite effect on my sound, playing style and vocals, but I tend to quickly make a song my own. In my thinking, that’s the only way you can perform it from your heart and soul.
Born in Texas and raised in New Mexico, P. Blake Martin is a prolific songwriter-singer. He exhibits finesse and confidence on stage performing standards and originals at venues from clubs and restaurant/bars to cafes and house concerts.
Blake’s solo career is often extended into playing with blues/rock and fusion bands. He is perfectly at home taking the vocal and/or electric guitar lead, or hanging back with the drummer and bass player to help create a solid rhythm section.
"Bottom line, I just love to make music with my friends and see people diggin’ it."
Yo Gypsy Cowboy! Cassie and I were listening to The Guitar Man by Bread and want you to come play it at Atticus sometime. That and The Hippie song of course :)
