Le Pussycat Dolls nascono nel 1995 come corpo di ballo stile "burlesque" le cui componenti si esibivano in uno show di canto e ballo con un repertorio di canzoni degli anni cinquanta e sessanta.
Con l'aiuto dei produttori Jimmy Iovine e Ron Fair, il gruppo fu ri-creato con un casting diverso e trasformato in un gruppo pop.
Durante il casting vengono scelte Nicole Scherzinger e Melody Thornton
che insieme alle già presenti Carmit Bachar (che vi entrò a far parte già dal 1995 ed ha lasciato il gruppo nel 2008), Kimberly Wyatt, Ashley Roberts (che vi entrò nel 2001) e Jessica Sutta (che vi entrò nel 2002)
formaro ufficialmente il progetto muciale delle Pussycat Dolls.
Nel 2005, le Pussycat Dolls rilasciano l'album di debutto: PCD che debutta alla posizione #5 su Billboard 200, vendendo circa 100,000 copie, da cui sono stati estratti singoli di successo come "Don't Cha", "Stickwitu", "Beep" e "Buttons".
Le dolls tornano nell'estate 2008 con il singolo "When I Grow Up" anticipazione del nuovo album in uscita il 23 Settembre dal titolo "Doll Domination" che promette un anno di successi targati PCD.
