PCOS stands for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. The blogs here will tell you more about it and all informational blogs are public to read. The Cyster's Stories and Other blogs are private due to the fact there is personal and medical information shared between cysters in those blogs. This space was set up to educate, enlighten and encourage those wanting to know more about PCOS. The information here comes from various sources with my opinion thrown in occasionally. It is meant to be a guide only for general information on PCOS and not to replace a physicians diagnosis or treatment.
Who I'd like to meet:
I don't mind asnwering your questions I just ask that you first read the blogs and see if you can find your answers there. If you don't then by all means, ask them under the most appropriate blog as a comment. I answer all questions and even reply to many comments. If you are uncomfortable asking in public then send it privately. Please add in your message if it is alright for me to add your question as "anonymous asked" and let me reply in a blog for all to see. Someone else may have the same questions or concerns that you do. This way it saves time and I can answer right away.
The Cyster Map was put here for cysters to help find others in their area. It is not a tracker and the only way you will be on it is if you put your information on it for others to see.
Please get your adrenals tested- 95% of my symptoms are gone with addressing them. My doctor has me on Adrenal Cortico. It has made a huge difference-(I sweat notably less, less acne, less hair in the wrong places, less fatigued). Also check your vitamin D levels- 40-50% of PCOS suffers have a deficient level...I'm in the sun daily in the Carolina's (shall I say more) I have a tan and I do not use sunscreen(my choice) but I'm still deficient in Vit. D-that shocked my doctor (I'm in direct sunlight at least an hour a day more than recommended)- I wouldn't have known if the OBGYN didn't have it as a mandatory test for preventing Breast Cancer which it has been linked to. Think link finds PCOS sufferers have mal-absorption issue among all else we suffer-just sharing what has helped me a lot lately:)
