Guitarist and Rocker turned humanitarian, German born, Detlef Kowelewski, forty years of peace. Selling everything he owns to set sail and take his dream by storm a visionary, rocker and man about peace, its time to step up and take notice.
PEACE FULL SAIL FOR EUROROCK co-founder Detlelf Kowelewski and Lou Ricca, whose mission is bringing humanity together in the name of peace. “We want to bring as many different people together for world peace. Detlef Kowlewski, and LouRicca on March 8th, 2008 set sail in the name of peace. Detlef and his international band/crew set sail on an adventure, with their 54 foot sailing vessel; their goal was to sail from the coast of Africa and Europe for a two month trip known as PEACE FULL SAIL FOR EUROROCK. During the voyage, they ran into problems with the boat ,but what is the old saying, “triumph out of tragedy?” While repairing their sail to continue on their Peace Journey, they ran into a horrible scene and turned their real life experience into a music video, for their hit song Refugee.
One year later and in just a few short days, Detlef and his girlfriend, Spanish born, Lorena Quintero Castellano will set sail once again, this time their destination is Cuba, bringing much needed supplies with them; tooth brushes, eye glasses, and a variety of goods for the unfortunate men, women and children.
Their mission in Cuba will not be easy, as Detlef informed me these are very proud people and it is not easy for them ask or receive help. Detlef and Lorena are determined and passionate about their mission and helping those in need. With their goal set strongly in site, they will find a way to develop friendships, and work their way into the hearts of the Cuban people, so that they are able to aid those who are in need. He spoke passionately about helping people read again, how we don’t think about the simple things in life, until they are gone. He informed me that so many in this world can not even afford a proper pair of glasses and have not read a book in years and how happy he and Lorena were to be able to help them read again.
PEACE FULL SAIL, which is a fully equipped floating music studio, and when docked organizes charity events, such as concerts, to raise funds to support their cause. The money is used to sail and maintain the boat so they can continue on their journey, in the name of peace, helping the underprivileged. PEACE FULL SAIL also welcomes those who are interested in joining their journey.
PEACE FULL SAIL FOR EUROROCK works closely with SAVING WITH INSTRUMENTS AND SOUNDZ (S.W.I.S.S.), founded by Swiss Chris who is the former Music Director and Drummer for 5 time Grammy Winner John Legend and is a Grammy winner himself. Lou Ricca is the director and program director for S.W.I.S.S.
Detlef Kowelewski, the Skipper of PEACE FULL SAIL, is also a band member of KreigerGottes (Warrior of God). Detlef and his band are also nominated for a Grammy in 2010. Stay tuned for more details and rocking in the name of peace.

From Florida to New York we had permanens with tropical storms. 4-times we are just endkommen Twister. In New York we had a day 55-knot winds. After 600 miles then came to Europe Hurricaine Bill (Strength 4) with 30 meter waves. Lorena 36 hours I shared with the control. Then 10 hours rest in the eye. Instead we tried to limp to bring order to the Kaos. Our passengers had minor stomach problem, while we for our lives kaemften .. She had puked over like a bad movie all ............
After 10 hours then came the tail of the Hurricaine. Again 6 hours to endure.
(THIS IS WHERE THE UNITED STATES COAST GUARD COMES IN!!)
Arrived in Flores (first island of the Azores), we still do not find our peace. The marina is not yet ready to make ourselves firmly to the peer. Where 5 of our strongest lines (28mm) broken so we had to sail half-dead continues to draw near the island. Had we thought so ....
No wind, no time (to regulate the engine, we lost too much oil) to flow toward the south, we were only 8 days after the Santa Maria (last island in the Azores Archipelago) reach .. Tomorrow will be wide to Las Palmas.
I hope your understanding that we did not make more this year, going for Atlantic crossing.
But who in the Canaries, or even want to go on holiday now for the coming season with us on the ship were'd like, since your very welcome!

We are a part of a nonprofit organization that is
currently docked in Port Canaveral with some much
needed repairs to our sailboat. So while we are
here we have been setting up our next tour stage.
We have been recording on the boat...yes you

has been designed to do different music
fundraiser events locally and throughout the
world. We are always collecting donations, canned
& bagged food, clothing, school supplies, and
personal care items for the most unfortunate
children in the world. We collect and distribute
the goods with our Captain and its mates sailing
to various ports around the globe, sending a
peace message with every breeze. We bring
together different musicians both locally,
national and worldwide for these events. It
brings joy and satisfaction to the local
communities to participate in a fun filled family
day of games, music and camaraderie for all who
