There is a saying that everything is bigger in Texas. You could also say this is the philosophy that the Dallas based band PEACEMAKER has been built upon. In early 2005, four friends came together in a small run down rehearsal space where they would spend the next year doing nothing more than writing songs and crafting a style that would define what they wanted to accomplish as a band. For the members of Peacemaker, all coming from previous bands and tired of the same oversaturated cliché scenes the goal was simple; to create a sound unlike anything anyone had heard before while staying true to not only themselves, but the many influences each of them shared as musicians. This goal was not reached easily or quickly by any means, and it wasn’t until a great deal of writing later that their vision came into full focus. After what seemed like a life time, Peacemaker felt that they had finally written a set of songs that would breathe fresh air into the life of Rock & Roll.
In the spring of 2006 they began searching for someone to help them bring their new sound to life. They soon grabbed the attention of producer Geoff Rockwell (Forever The Sickest Kids-Universal, Memphis May Fire-Trustkill) and spent the entire summer into fall with him recording ten songs that would become their self-titled debut. The rest of 2006 would be spent back in the small rehearsal space where they started. By this point patience was something that had become a definite virtue with the band, and they were in no hurry to release their newly recorded full length without being able to put on a live show they felt could do it justice. In early 2007, Peacemaker released their first CD and began unleashing their new brand of Rock & Roll on the masses. It wasn’t long before people started taking notice of it, including clear channels 102.1 The Edge who started playing ‘No Rest for the Wicked’ regularly on its weekend local show. The rest of the year was spent playing as many shows as possible developing a strong regional following and in early 2008, Peacemaker headed back into the studio to begin working on a new EP. This time they would be working along side their good friend and producer Matt Aslanian at Maximedia Studios. The vision for the new EP was much like the vision of the first CD, only the boys wanted to up the stakes on it. Simply put, bigger songs & bigger sound. With a style now defined Peacemaker was more than ready to take on the challenge and thus the writing process began. After finishing up and tightening four new songs, they started laying down tracks for what would become ‘The Reconstruction of the Ossicular Chain’.
Not long after recording began a situation arose that would greatly affect the future of Peacemaker, especially one member in particular. Ray (Bass) had spent his life without the use of his left ear and with a surgery that could potentially fix his hearing a decision had to be made. Knowing it would put the band on hold for an unknown period of time, it was decided by all he must go through with it. Ray laid his parts down and then left to attempt something he once thought impossible. Moving on with a replacement was out of the question so while he was gone the band would spend the rest of the year finishing the new EP and awaiting his return. Once again, the members of Peacemakers patience would be tested as the recovery process for Ray began. After months had passed, he came through with a full recovery now hearing in stereo for the first time, allowing the boys to begin working on tightening up their live show and preparing for the new release.
On March 17, 2009 Peacemaker released their new four-track EP titled ‘The Reconstruction of the Ossicular Chain’. The name came from the surgery Ray had received and in the eyes of Peacemaker they were both serving the same purpose; reinventing the way you hear… It was decided that the EP would be released for free to download through their website, allowing anyone who wanted a chance to experience what Peacemaker is trying to accomplish the chance. So far the results have been nothing short of outstanding and with crowds starting to grow even more at shows in an ever expanding region, the members expect nothing but continued growth for the future. Peacemaker started as simply four good friends with an ideal of music un-experienced by each of them in past. It has grown into nothing short of a brotherhood and will continue to grow until they have shared it with the rest of the world. From there the possibilities are endless… Long Live Rock & Roll….
