swearing (cos it's cool), skateboarding (cos it's cool), stealing from my family and friends (cos I'm a shit bag). Doing the funky worm (cos I'm G-Dawg fly. Holla!)
Music
Anything but Prog rock or ambient trance. At the minute French pop from 50's to present day.
Movies
On the Waterfront and My Own Private Idaho. Chaplin's pretty good (just watched it for the first time last night). Kung-Fu movies - Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan in particular. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon deserves a mention. Amelie, The Three Colours Trilogy (Maybe not Blue, not watched Red yet). Westerns suck - the book's always better than the film.
Educating Rita's pretty cool - sums up my entire attitude to writing and literature, pity about the soundtrack though!
Television
Celebrity Stars in their Eyes, Quizmania, Holby City and Jeremy Kyle. Oh and Ceefax especially the teen pages on channel 4.
Books
Wuthering Heights and The Great Gatsby - can't decide which is better. Huckleberry Finn, Charles Bukowski, Stewart Home, Ian Cochrane and Mark H.McCormick
Heroes
Stalin, Hussain, Milosovich, Mark H. Mc Cormick, Guy Fawkes and John Mytton

About me: Writer living in Belfast. Best known as a performance poet, though also a short story writer and one time playwright (never again). Perform regularly in Belfast, sometimes in England and Scotland. All that said I like film, music, and socialising, hoping to meet a nice girl and settle down on a farm somewhere and grow GM crops for a tidy profit. One time trainee WWE wrestler though a hamstring injury while doing my finisher (The Funky Worm) put paid to that. I like to read cowboy novels.
Who I'd like to meet: My foot and your arse. Aside from that Tom Leonard - everyone else is dead.

I WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTING FRIENDS AT THIS ADDRESS.
gerardmckeown. com is down for the time being, though I hope to have it up and running again in a few months time. I didn't feel the old format was working for me as I wanted it to, so it'll reappear after a re-design. In the meantime here are links to various sites on the web where I can be found:

Well thank you, maybe you can even help me, I am popping over to Galway in July 19th to do a gig, and thinking whilst I'm in the vicinity I might as well do more, what's the craic with gigs in Belfast, do you think anyone would want me?
thanks, my name's taken from a quote by robert rauchenburg, he was a crap artist but he was a character :-) If there is a poetry scene it must have passed me by because I haven't notticed it, although there's a preston born poet on my top friends, 'byron vincent' and he's one of my favorites, you should check him out xx
Hey, if yer not washing yer hair Thurs night (22nd) and ye've finished with 'The Boy Who Has No Face' then might we be honoured of yer esteemed presence at the Pavilion? Probably not, eh... :)
