  • Bio

Snappy lady bandleader with 3-foot baton, 10-piece orchestra and 2 vocalists playing 1930s-40s svelte swing, lush Latin, fabulous fox trots, seasick Art Deco, old cartoon music, the best of vintage Hollywood and inspired forays into the 1950s. Who I'd like to meet: Hipsters who pine for the past, jumpin jive-ers, jittery brides, swing kids, corporate event mavens, wedding planners with kind hearts, dance bands who play from those often cranky but sensational original old charts, girl singers, boy singers and everyone in between. .. .. .. ..

    .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..
  • Influences

Early Glen Miller/Duke Ellington, Xavier Cugat, Perez Prado, Ina Rae Hutton, Betty Hutton, Ginger Rogers, Cab Calloway, Raymond Scott, LeRoy Shields, Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald, Keely Smith, Helen Kane, Esquivel, Louis Gottschalk, Perry Como, Fred Waring, The Mills Brothers, Boswell Sisters, Al Dubin/Harry Warren, Jack Mason and all cool old arrangers. Adore The Beau Hunks, bassman Gert Jan Blom, Combustible Edison, Luis Oliveira & his Bandodalua Boys, Dante Ferrando, Christina Midnight, T-Mack. Our real inspirations: The one and only Kay and Bert, a pair of genuine swing kids from about 1944. Kay worked as a girly riveteer at a wartime New Jersey arsenal and once led a spectacular Conga Line in a famous hotel, Bert was a flyboy in the China-Burma-India theater of war. Both did their best for the war effort at home and abroad, in patriotic spirit and with swell style. For that we salute them - and all of their many peers back in the day. During the late 1920s and 30s, this fine couple also enjoyed the best of vintage Hollywood, particularly Bing Crosby and Dick Powell; their song was "Sweet Sue." ..Peaches and Tico Tico...... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..
  • Sounds Like

    We play old music for new audiences, with the idea that the sincerity, humor and giddy high energy of yore is an incredible panacea for what ails us in this day and age. Our motto: We're in the HAPPINESS BUSINESS. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..
