Bio
Peadar King is a singer and composer from the west-coast Island of Inishbofin. His lyrically adroit and melodic compositions have been amassing much popularity over the past number of years since he began playing his atypical brand of folk and roots music. Surrounded by traditional music from an early age (all of his family are musicians), it was a natural progression when Peadar began to play himself. Years later, he became enamoured with the lyrical beauty of the music of artists such as Richard Thompson, Tom Waits and Bruce Springsteen and. After being a leading member of the now defunct Galway-based rock group Cornerstone from 2004-2006, Peadar spent some time living and performing his music in France where he developed his craft playing with musicians from radically divergent backgrounds – from gypsy jazz to bossa nova, folk and blues. In 2008 he returned to Ireland he recorded and released his first album "The Nature of Flaws." -

Sounds Like
"In the Nature of Flaws Peadar King has put together a body of work that resonates like a vintage guitar in brand new hands. A distinctive voice that tells the truth." Fiachna o Braonain , The hothouse Flowers ************************************************************* "Every track sounds relaxed, yet performed with conviction and affection." -Niall Toner, The roots Freeway, RTE radio 1 "King's voice is a deep, paternal voice .It has a comforting tone - unpretentious and familiar, yet it shapes his unique identity as a young man on a journey. "The Nature of Flaws." Is a journey that audiences can be intrigued by and identify with." -Marissa Foshee, Folk Alliance International ************************************************************* "Peadar has a voice as big as Brad Roberts from the crash test dummies, with an eye on route 66 and the thoughfulness of a man who chooses his words carefully." -Gavin Ralston, Guitarist, composer and producer ************************************************************* "Peadar's warm, direct, and slightly weathered delivery makes you trust him as a storyteller. His voice, honed over many years, is the voice of a true singer, conveying deep emotion with small, subtle gestures. You sense that he is singing authentically and that he comes from a place of modesty, and his music is all the more endearing for it." -Odessa Chen, Singer ************************************************************* "Peadar King is a poet. His songs always tell a story and his rich voice invites you to be a part of that story. His live performance is something special – if you get the chance go and listen to him. You will be impressed." - Gillebride McMillan, Folk singer ************************************************************* "Throughout Peadar's music there are a number of themes dealing with his relationships with others. Titles such as 'Trying' speak for themselves as do 'don't tell it to me' and 'playing the game.' Although, that would not convey the depth of Peadar's music, as the lyrics transpose the riddles of the human experience in a quite a profound way. " -Jonathon Fanning ,Journalist, Midlands Tribune
