Once overshadowed by the tendency of a certain sugary sweet to thwart dentists everywhere, Peanut Brittle Satellite has moved beyond its namesake's murky past to orbit with the finest. Their sound is leaving many intrigued and, having recently won a Buffalo Music Award for being the Top New Original Band of 2008, they are feeling the rewards of their work since they formed in the fall of 2007.
Since their inception, they have opened for national acts like The Brew and Zili Misik and have been featured in festivals with international acts such as The Join and Brownman Electric Trio. They have also played for charities including Hospice and Buffalo's annual Music Is Art festival.
PBS's sound is hard to describe. Their influences range from head-banging metal to jazz fusion, from electronica to classical contemporaries. They conjure up an atmosphere that must be experienced to be understood. Every song is an opportunity to awaken the schizophrenic shoe gazer in us all.
Now, having their first EP in the hands of the masses, PBS is eager to finish work on their first full length recording. Following its release, a tour should soon be anticipated.
