AU (pronounced "Ay-you") is the work of multi-instrumentalist Luke Wyland. Begun while finishing up his degree from the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, then moved across the US to Portland, OR.
Currently a full time duo with Dana Valatka on drums (Jackie-O-Motherfucker, Mustaphamond), it is a loosely defined amalgam of players that can swell to double digit numbers with full choir in tow and sees some of Portland's finest lending a helping hand.
Hi! Thanks for the add! You should have taken more vinyls in Cherbourg because you made a very good live and I was not the only one who wanted to buy it!! No way, we have the web! Get well! Ben
Just a quick note to say that the interview with Luke Wyland from AU is available to download now as a zip file (27m40s, 117MB, first broadcast June 2 2009, although this file contains more footage than went out on air initially)... ...in which Luke talks about some of his musical influences, which include the classical composer Ravel, minimalist master John Cage and jazz pianist Keith Jarrett, as well as the challenges of taking his ensemble sound on the road... ...and how the damp climate in Portland, Oregon is conducive to music production! here = http://rapidshare.com/files/24086427...ew_Podcast.rar

thanks for the gig at landet, probably the best gig I seen in a year.... yes! /markus in mackaper( and also the extra guy in stuff) thank you, very inspiring
Even though I know there's a lot of quality in Christian's/Koloni's arrangements, your set this sunday afternoon was much more than that. So uplifting and good, a perfect avant-pop combo, when structures, free form attitude, energy, noise and beuty shared the bill. Leaving the museum I was very satisfied. If you return early this autumn I try to be there.
ThanX for visiting and adding us!
Love & Space!
OAX & YAN OF JOXFIELD through Oax, the guy who stayed for a while and talked to you afterwards.
