I play the pedal steel guitar and a few other instruments with Shane Gamble & The Gentlemen. I love to utilize the sounds that a steel guitar can make in creating music. Most people have heard the sound of a steel guitar, but not as many have seen the instrument itself. I find it fascinating~ and a whole lot of fun to play!

Hey Dave, So far it has been hot, hot , hot here in Texas and I am still afloat. Work has dropped off this past month, so I'm not playing as much as I would like, but we have finished up B'Ann's CD and video and I'm pleased about that. Playing some bass in church and I'm actually working on early retirment that will take effect in October, both from Social Security and American Federation of Musicians. So...I'll have a stipend to work with as I try to regain some footing in the music business. Got my home energy bill yesterday and the cost had been raised 30% in one month. The highest energy bill in 27 years of living in this house. Gas is $4 a gallon and no one seems to be concerned. I say we're all being taken for a ride that is we've all been taken for a ride these past 40 years of Reaganism and a precious few have benefited while the rest of us are gonna' have to pay for it. Mortgage forclosures, bank failures, 60% of the wealth in the hands of 10% of the population. I actually saw a discussion on the Steel Guitar Forum not long ago, that wondered how long steel guitar playing would survive as a profession, given the return you get for the investment. Like I said it's hot, hot, hot. Take care and value the things that make sense, Larry
Thanks Dave- I like your playing as well. I grew up in IL so I'll be touring there one of these days, though more likely it will be with Sugar Shack www. myspace. com/sugarshackband.
My man!!! The Jud conway record is finally finished! I put a couple tunes up on my myspace; You sound fantastic, man. You really nailed it on this record, and were such a huge part of the whole sound. You brought the twang, the drawl, and the heart, to these tunes. I really appreciate all the incredible work! I'll send a few copies out when we get them back from press. Talk to you soon! Peace, -DC in DC
