Roger Greasby of 'Born In A Barn Studio' on our recent recording session with him:
["Peeping Thom & the Voyeurs - Look In ...
The last four days in the studio have been quite strange. With old fashioned style naming system and retro desires throughout the pieces this band were definite in what they wanted to create - on first listen its quite intense, often distasteful and certainly dischordant! Capturing just three songs we have proven that music can be pleasant in its abstractivity. Thom has an upsettingly good grasp of English language and paints musical pictures delicately over the ear grinding filthy guitar style of Simon whilst Sam underpins with a trance feel through solid repetitive drumming.
However ...
Not all three tracks were like this! The third number, aptly named Long Route Home, was utterly nice by comparison and showed a greater diversity. Simon jumped onto the piano stool and delivered one of the nicest piano lines we have heard in the studio and it was utterly ad lib. Built into the track was their managers daughter on harp adding quite a plucky sound in stark contrast to the piano."]
