They’re not even twenty yet but have known each other for ten years and have been making music for more than half of their lives.
Noah, Gabriel, Simon and Stefan are inseparable friends. Together they play concerts, win competitions, talk big, dig 4-metre ditches in their parents’ gardens, play football and, above all, make good music. Together they’re known as Pegasus, a top band whose love of music shines through with every note they play. A noisy bunch whose affection for one another is obvious from the first time you see them. Now, in the wake of their EP, «Music Is My Baby», the eagerly awaited debut album is about to be released by this up and coming Biel rock band.
«A Place To Be» turns heads with a whole load of groove, crisp riffs, heavenly vocals and lyrics that make you sit up in your chair. The driving beat of numbers like «Never Let Me Down» alternates with melancholy soul that oozes heartache («When I Need A Smile»). This band has the soul of John Lennon, the heart of Brian Wilson and the libido of Marvin Gaye.
Hip-hop, neo-grunge, indie rock, electronic? Not for them. Pegasus has fallen in love with the sounds of the beat generation: The melodies and finesse of the Beatles, the harmonies of the Beach Boys or the Byrds, and the edginess of the Kinks. The album «A Place To Be», which is finally to be released on 30 March 2007, has been a while in the making. But good things come to those who wait; the (still very) young lakesiders have been working on their baby since October 2004, and despite all the stresses and strains, it has all been worth it in the end. „It was a really difficult time; we all gave up our career or education in the end because we just HAD TO make music“, says singer, guitarist and songwriter Noah, with a grin that shows off the wholesome adolescent charm that comes across so well on stage. The friendly and playful banter between the lakeside lads, coupled with their amicable on- and off-stage nature always brings a smile to your face. These characteristics give the band an unrivalled charisma that immediately captivates the audience.
So it comes as no surprise that the people around them are enthusiastic, too: Manager Nick Werren (Tomazobi, AZIZ) went from being an avid fan to working in the office, and the teamwork with producers Serge Christen (Mud Slick, Modern Day Heroes) and Küse Fehlmann (Züri West, Made In Mind) has brought the band to the ears of the public. The band’s many concerts over the last few years have given the guys a touch of impish self-assurance, and this comes across as an often stunning kind of charming
nonchalance during their gigs.
