Peggy is NOT only one of the favorites artists at Taffy's but she is indeed an incredible musician. We are very glad to hear and meet her talent again at our venue.
Peggy is absolutely amazing and has the gift of mesmerizing the crowd in a very SPECIAL way . . . She gave a wonderful performance and we are so privileged to call her "one of Taffy's best!"

There are many guitar players who run the venue/concert circuit. But there is only one Peggy Welty who can call herself "Guitar Goddess". As a regular performer at Taffy's of Eaton, Peggy touched her audience as usual with rock, blues, jazz, classic and contemporary guitar solos. When Peggy sang with her angelic voice, the souls of the audience trembled, because they instantaneously felt that Peggy sings and plays her music from the heart.
Peggy is not only about accomplishment, but she offers expressive music that invites the audience to become one with her and the emotional waves she rides. Her performance is an unforgettable life story and a journey. Without a doubt Peggy sets a new standard for venue musicians, as she uses her trained guitar profession in ways which helps us understand what profound talent is and how deeply it can be expressed.

=============================
Her e-mail moniker says it all, ‘your friendly neighborhood guitar goddess’ and while she sheepishly explains that she “didn’t create the tag” it’s a very appropriate fit. As far as I’m concerned, Peggy Welty is exactly that, a guitar goddess. She’s been playing since she was five years old and after high school attended the Bowling Green State University College of Musical Arts with a major in guitar and minor in jazz. Her experience and academic study has paid off brilliantly; her playing capability is exceptional. She possesses a connection to the instrument that is instantly apparent just by watching her fingers as they effortlessly traverse the landscape of the neck and fret board of her acoustic guitar. Her natural ability coupled with her technical understanding of music and its theory produce something special; incredibly musical, soulful expressions that vibrantly accentuate the fact that Peggy isn’t just playing the right notes. She’s extracting every ounce of emotion, passion and power from each vibration of each string. Like most accomplished players Welty, puts her heart and soul into each song demonstrating a feel and touch rarely encountered. Her renditions simply drip with soul and raw emotion. Her repertoire is vast and diverse. Be it classical, jazz, blues, folk or a Celtic tune, Peggy Welty, the guitar goddess, plays each number with authority and competence. While many guitarists focus on flash, speed and technical prowess, for Welty’s different.
In the same vein as renowned guitarist Mark Knopfler, when Peggy Welty plays it’s all about the song and all about translating those notes on paper to produce a sound that moves people. From Bach to Randy Rhodes, she immerses herself in the music brilliantly and oh yeah; she’s got the speed, flash and the chops that inspire the ordinary player to work just a bit harder to try to attain her level of musicianship.
She’s a real-deal entertainer who hopes to one day take her playing to the next level, eventually playing full time and making a living from music. She realizes it’s a tough road but she has the passion, tenacity and ability to have a realistic shot.
I’d encourage you to learn more about Peggy Welty by visiting her website at www.peggywelty.com At her site you’ll discover more about this creative and very talented woman and her music. At the site you can also order a copy of her newest compact disc, “Change” in addition to an earlier release simply called “Guitarist.”

So...you want relaxing guitar music - with a little bit of an edge?
Ms. Welty began playing guitar at age 5.
"Thirty-something" years later, Ms. Welty has made a name for herself locally and abroad as a premiere fingerstyle guitarist, emersed in the eclectic as well as the old school.
Ms. Welty's background is in classical music. She started like many students do, playing "the classics". Ms. Welty's repertoire now spans from J. S. Bach to Zeppelin and most anything in between. She has a special place in her heart for big band and rockabilly, as well as pop, citing bands like Collective Soul, New Grass Revival, Steve Wariner and others as favorite artists.
Peggy will play anything that appeals to her (so be prepared - the list is endless, and definitely a bit eclectic). From her own jazz standard arrangement of "Georgia" to her own arrangement of "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring / I Saw Red", to arrangements of (local Dayton band) Shrug's songs, Ms. Welty excels at orchestral arranging and has composed classical and new age quintets for guitar, as well as various other compositions for guitar.
A general rundown: At the age of 16, Ms. Welty taught adult night school guitar classes. At the age of 18, prior to her high school graduation, Ms. Welty enjoyed playing guitar at the Grand Old Opry.
Ms. Welty is a former student of the Bowling Green State University College of Musical Arts. Her (former) major was Guitar Performance and Education (yes, they actually have a major called that) with a Jazz Emphasis minor.
Ms. Welty's first CD was released in 2000. The response has been overwhelmingly positive as a result and she hopes to have a follow up release out soon. Ms. Welty's CD has been sold overseas in Ireland and Australia as well as locally.
Ms. Welty's new CD, branches out to new areas, while keeping with her own unique style of playing. You'll hear more of Peggy singing on this one, with some surprises added in for good measure.
Hello there, now this one should fit.... Thanks again for your add.... They still may mess up the way it was written, but you should still be able to enjoy the reality of it anyhow.... Many smiles to you always, ~Nick~ :)
I look at all your faces trying to hide so many tears, unable to understand, what has happened to all of the years. Thinking about our yesterdays when our dreams were still in sight, now we hide within our memories while alone we say good night. Then in the morning you wake up by yourself just to open up your eyes and find, it's just another day you'll be waiting, in love's long and lonely line.
You see the sadness as it's all around you, just needing a smile from someone that is kind, this isn't the way it was suppose to be, nor what you were hoping through time to find. So you stand there in life's pouring rain, wishing the clouds would just wash away all of this pain, knowing if you don't soon find true love, you'll end up going insane. You look through all of the smiles while hoping to find a sign, so maybe these clouds will go away, and the sun will have a place to shine.
Staying home alone, our spirits cry to be set free, wanting to feel true love again, the kind that was meant to be….
