Jean Philippe Peguero (born September 29, 1981) is a Haïtian football (soccer) player, who currently plays as a forward for Brøndby IF in the Danish Superliga championship. He was born in Port-de-Paix, Haïti.
Peguero is also a significant force on the Haïtian National Team, having appeared for the side 10 time scored 9 Goals, and He has an additional nine time for the U-23 team and scored 12 Goals.
Peguero started His career with Haïtian club Don Bosco FC, before moving to the American Major League Soccer championship in March 2004 to play for the Colorado Rapids. Peguero finished his first season with the Rapids with seven goals and four assists in only 18 games. In his second season, he scored seven goals and had six assists before the Rapids traded Peguero to New York Red Bull in April 2006 for Thiago Martins, a first round pick and a third round pick. Peguero scored six goals in 12 games for New York Red Bull , in addition two goals in a friendly match 05/27/06 against German team Bayern Munich.
In July 2006, he was transferred to Danish Superliga club Brøndby IF. On the 5th of August 2006, Peguero scored a goal in his debut for Brøndby; the third goal in a 3-0 win over AC Horsens. However, in a match against Viborg FF on August 20, Peguero ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament in his right knee as he scored Brøndby's third goal in the 3-0 win. It is estimated that his recovery will last 11 to 12 months.
Outlook:
Jean Philippe returns to the MLS after spending two seasons with the Danish Superliga Club Brondby IF. While with Brondby, Jean Philippe scored one goal in his debut and shortly thereafter he suffered a knee injury and missed the remainder of the season. Prior to playing overseas, the Haitian native spent three seasons in MLS with the Colorado Rapids and the New York Red Bulls. He played in 58 games for Colorado and New York, scoring 20 goals and posting 13 assists. A proven goal scorer known for having a strong presence in the air and ability to breakdown defenders, the forward will help lead the offensive attack in 2008.
