| About Pekka Raninen |
Been playing since 1977. Starting with classical piano and guitar, I
then jumped over the fence to a well-known Finnish guitarist Harri
Louhensuo's fusion band called Workshop when I was 17 yrs. I also
teached quite a bit during 1984-1992 while playing as a sideman in
bands of over 40 Finnish artists.
In 1992 I got a job in Kirill "Kirka" Babitzin's road band, in which I
stayed for some 500 gigs up to 1996. Then it was time to switch over to
Audio & Light stuff – I have always liked to do many
things in life. This meant a break in playing professionally, and since
2000 I have only played occasionally here & there.
Nowadays I study Supply Chain Management (BBA of Business Logistics)
and mainly play at home with my software studio – whenever I
have the time. I also play electric bass (Sale Custom Precision, check
out http://www.kolumbus.fi/sale.custom/). I guess I'm known for my love
of reharmonizing and rearranging existing songs. You might find some
examples on this page.
I have also made up music of my own.
A major part of this was nearly 2 000 radio jingles and commercials
since 1985 and also quite a lot of music for promotional videos etc. I
also consider myself as a sound engineer, a graphic designer, and a
writer of some competence.
It has been a distant but constant dream in the 2000's to "sum up" some
kind of a recording of my own. This is still in the future, due to
simply lack of time available. Anyway, it WILL be called "Place
Keys"... :-)
