this is a new band. with old roots. Matthew McClimon, Matthew Golombisky, and Quin Kirchner, play in several other groups together including: QMRplus, Grilly Biggs, Red Shift, and The Other Planets. originally the trio played in these groups in new orleans, but this was before a mean ol' hurricane came through and messed things up a bit. now, they live in chicago (for the most part).
and Sam Macy has been living in Chicago for some years now. but before that, he lived in Asheville, NC. and before Matthew Golombisky lived in New Orleans, he too lived in Asheville, NC. and at the same time as Sam. these two played a lot of gigs together and were an in-demand duo. so this new group is a sort-of rekindling of that spirit.
Music without words isn't as good, because then you don't have a tough guy persona telling you what to think about until the song is over. I just don't feel comfortable with music that makes me explore my own mind. Sorry, guys.
