Pen15 was formed in Charlotte, NC in 1996 by Ryan Sullivan and British transplant Mike Bradley, largely as an excuse to drink and act rude, with occasional music being played from time to time. Drummer Dave Sterling joined the group early on and after this line up was solidified an EP was recorded and a d.i.y. tour of the East Coast of the United States followed shortly thereafter. The two week tour occured during the fall of 1997 and spanned twelve cities from Orlando to Boston and all major points in between including the legendary CBGBs where a bootleg tape was recorded 'off the board'. Mostly they just played to bartenders and other staff, but usually the staff seemed to dig it actually. After the tour they completed work on a full length CD called "In Beer Goggles". In 1999 Mike moved back to the UK and the band has been dormant since, until being revived in the summer of 2007 for a UK tour and a few US shows as well. 2008 brought even more performances from the reunited Pen15 along with it's first studio recording in over a decade called 'Lazy Bitch'.
Leisure on MTV’s The Real World Well sure as all get out.....my friend Katie from Chicago called me and let me know that my song "Does She Really Know?" from Jet Set Baby (MoRisen) was on MTV's The Real World Sidney last week.
Well since then it has played for a week straight and I have received hundreds of calls, texts, and emails from people around the country. Very cool!
Anyway, new albums coming. IBOMB productions has teamed with Hitt Records/Music out of LA to put forth new Leisure McCorkle tunes. They are coming soon! I will be hitting the road here and there for the fall and Spring...with a full blown tour next summer. Get Ready......please spread the word if I am coming to your town. I need all the support I can get.....capesh!
