Auckland band 'Altitude' have been together for almost ten years, and are well known within the Auckland originals and covers music scene. With members hailing from England, Wales and NZ, it is indeed a highly unique line up of performers. The band features vocalist Matt John, drummer Dean Blake, bass player Adam Black and guitarist/keyboards Andrew Davenport. Founding member Davenport has dedicated his life to music and the pursuit of personal excellence, and is completing a PhD on "The Development of Advanced Electric Guitar Technique." His instruments include 8 string guitar, 8 string bass (both hand built by himself) piano, drums, flute, and a plethora of other instruments. The BEST OF BRITISH concept is a live review of the best of Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin. Having recently completed successful performances in Auckland, "The Best Of British" show has been receiving rave reviews. The show is almost 4 hours in length, and includes all the classics and rarities from these two stadium giants including a spectacular drum solo which raises the roof! Altitude is currently in the studio working on their second original album due for release 2008.
