Pen-Epic was born in the fall of 2004. It started as a five piece consisting of Corey Sanchez, Ryan Donahue, Tyler Hill, Andy Parrish, and Ryan Whetstone. After a month, they played their first show, and off they went from there. A year later, Zach Martin joined the group as the slender, sleek, spunky bass player, and they put out a self titled album. The band played several shows, had many laughs, and ate cornbread by the bayou. After three and a half years, drummer Andy Parrish cut the cord from the band's placenta, causing it to starve for a short while.
It was in the midst of this famine that Ryan Donahue and Corey Sanchez started a new acoustic project (Roo Frack), and wrote several new originals aside from Pen-Epic. However, it didn't take long for the band to start playing again. Adam Mussino hopped on the kit for a bit, and the band was able to throw together a show with some new material. After that, Pen-Epic has been playing with the young and talented drummer Tyler Whetstone. With Guitarist Corey Sanchez going to the Berklee school of music, Guitarist Ryan Donahue and Bassist Zach Martin to the University of Vermont, and honker Ryan Whetstone attending WPI, and honker jr. tits at ponaganset, it is going to be difficult to keep the band together. but we goin' do it. we goin' do it.
