   Franz Kafka's Blurbs
About me:
One morning, upon awakening from agitated dreams, I found myself, in my bed, transformed into a monstrous vermin. I lay on my hard, armorlike back, and when lifting my head slightly, I could view my brown, vaulted belly partitioned by arching ridges, while on top of it, the blanket, about to slide off altogether, could barely hold. My many legs, wretchedly thin compared with my overall girth, danced helplessly before my eyes.

Who I'd like to meet:
Writers, artists, dung beetles, other people who feel out of place in this crazy world. Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Thanks for the add - you have made paths in my life, Franz, and I would have missed them if they weren't there - it's a bless to admit the chaos instead of running away from it- then it doesn't hurt so much.

Thank you for being part of the movement to protect children from legalized violence.

Fans of Kafka and friends of children everywhere, please add us so that as many people as possible can read about the harmful and longlasting effects of corporal punishment.

Your help is greatly appreciated!

from "the squid and the whale":

Sophie: Yeah. I mean, it's gross when he turns into the bug, but I love how matter of fact everything is.
Walt Berkman: Yeah, it's very Kafkaesque.
Sophie: Cause it's written by Franz Kafka.
Walt Berkman: Right. I mean, clearly.

Thank you Franz,
although your writings allways had something "grueling" to me, i just couldn't stop reading. Have a nice day, or better: have a silent productive night.
Greetings Doc.

Dateless days

The hundreds, say thousands of things you did wrong in your lifetime. Not those by purpose, it could have been because of stupidity, clumsiness, negligence, by accident, by laziness, without any bad intention.
Sometimes a hateful memory of them slips suddenly into your brain, as an invader who throws a piano string around your head and tightens it against your throat.

At such memories I feel the urgent need to produce a hard and long shout to blow those scenes out of my brain, as they do in spring by shooting cannons to chase the rats out of the fields, to banish the birds out of the orchard.
In fact, I do not even mean the painful memories themselves, but the shame which they provoke. The older you get, the more shame.

Hi, Franz,

True Kafka-esque story:
For my Masters orals at San Francisco State University,
I picked you, Moliere and Harold Pinter.
Some combination, eh?
But when I showed up for the grilling,
I was suddenly asked,
"What have you been doing the last few years
since you disappeared from campus?"

When I confessed that I'd just passed
my Ph.D. comprehensive exams
in Dramatic Literature, Theory, Criticism and Theater History
at Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA,
I was told by the proctor
to "just go home!"
Seems I had more advanced degrees
than anyone present.

Some days you just can't win for trying!

8-)
