SARA HAZE SCALES THE HILLS
We're proud of our artist Sara Haze, whose song "My Own Hands To Hold" we placed in episode 3 of Season 5 of THE HILLS which aired on April 13th. The song was used in the final scene of the episode in a prominent spot. This is on top of previous placements in the movies CENTER STAGE 2 and THE GOOD TIMES ARE KILLING ME, a few uses in AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL and an upcoming use in the Style Network show RUBY. PEN MUSIC GROUP ROCKS THE DOLLHOUSE
PEN Music Group, Inc. has landed 5 song placements in the February 27 episode of the highly-anticipated Joss Whedon/FOX series Dollhouse, starring Eliza Dushku. Two of the songs "Superstar (Smash It)" and "Make Your Move" are performed on-camera by guest star Jaime Lee Kirchner (RENT) while a third is performed by Kirchner and Dushku.
After securing these placements critical to the episode's plot, PEN facilitated a co-starring role in the episode for recording artist Kimberly Cole, co-writer and original artist of "Superstar (Smash It)" and 2 other songs used in club scenes. Other PEN artists who provided the music include Stardust Twin, and three core members of the Alt. Rock band Hypnogaja: writer/producer Jeeve (Santana, Paulina Rubio), Mark Nubar Donikian and Jason "ShyBoy" Arnold.
Cole's new EP, Superstar, featuring "Superstar (Smash It)," is now available on iTunes® and at all digital retailers worldwide on Crystal Ship Records, producer Jeeve's imprint.
Hypnogaja's new album Truth Decay comes out in June 2009 and will be available on iTunes® on Union State Records.
Stardust Twin's "Make Your Move" was co-written by Jeeve, Nubar and ShyBoy (along with fellow PEN writers John Scott Mulchaey and Leticia Ascencio) and produced by Jeeve (with co-production by Nubar and ShyBoy). This marks the group's third major TV placement, following the feature of two songs - "U Could Be (So Good For Me)" and "Legend In Your Own Mind" - in the hit HBO series SIX FEET UNDER.
All of the tracks were recorded and produced at Jeeve's Crystal Ship Music studios in Hollywood, CA.
SARA HAZE SIGNS TO APA
Sara Haze has been signed to APA for national bookings. Troy Blakely, Senior Vice President and Managing Partner of APA in Los Angeles signed Sara, who will be represented by the company’s Concert Touring Department, for national bookings. Haze has been touring non-stop since January 2008 in support of her solo debut CD The Ladder (Beachfront Records).

SARA HAZE PERFORMS WITH GLEN BALLARD AND MARK HUDSON
After a wowing Glen Ballard and Mark Hudson during a successful showcase during Canadian Music Week in Toronto, singer/songwriter Sara Haze found herself performing with the duo during the ASCAP producers panel. Glen and Mark learned Sara's song, "The Big Lie" (co-written with PEN's Heather Holley), during sound check for the panel (which was hosted by John Alexander). Sara's scheduled to perform at The London Muse Expo late this fall and at Berlin's POPKOMM this October and is currently in production with producer E.B Fraley, recording her co-write with Glen Ballard (“Tattooed On Me”). Look for a singles release on iTunes early this summer!
HYPNOGAJA'S SHYBOY FEATURED ON DEVIL MAY CRY 4 SOUNDTRACK
Hypnogaja frontman, Jason "ShyBoy" Arnold, is featured on two songs that appear in the Capcom video game, Devil May Cry 4, the latest installment of the multi-platinum Devil May Cry video game franchise. ShyBoy contributed lyrics and vocals on "The Time Has Come" and the game's end roll, "Shall Never Surrender." This marks his second appearance in a major video game in the last 12 months. In 2007, Warner Bros. Interactive released FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage, featuring Hypnogaja's song, "They Don't Care," as well as music by 32 Leaves and A Static Lullaby.
DAN BERN NEWS
Singer/songwriter Dan Bern has co-written 15 songs that are featured in the Golden Globe-nominated motion picture, WALK HARD: THE DEWEY COX STORY. Additionally, Dan's song "Baby Bye Bye" was the featured music on GOOD MORNING AMERICA's "Your 3 Words" segment on December 29. The montage can be viewed at ABC news.

AMY POWERS NOMINATED FOR AN ANNIE AWARD AND AN EMMY® AWARD
The International Animated Film Society announced nominations for the 35th Annual Annie Awards recognizing the year's best animation across film, television, commercials, video games and short subjects. PEN songwriter Singer/songwriter Amy Powers and her collaborators Russ DeSalvo & Jeff Danna have been nominated in the Music in an Animated Feature Production category for their compositions in Walt Disney Videos' DISNEY PRINCESS ENCHANTED TALES. The winners will be announced at the award ceremony on Friday, February 8, 2008. Amy's also received an Emmy® nomination for her song "Shine" from BARBIE® IN THE 12 DANCING PRINCESSES.
LARRY GOLDINGS TO APPEAR WITH JAMES TAYLOR ON THE ELLEN DEGENERES SHOW ON THU, NOV 15
Larry Goldings will appear on the Ellen DeGeneres show on Thursday, November 15 with James Taylor. James will be on the show to promote his upcoming ONE MAN BAND CD/DVD release. (Larry’s original composition “School Song” appears on the release and James wrote a very complimentary tribute to Larry in the liner notes, calling him his "One Man Band." Larry Goldings has been touring with James for a couple of years. The One Man Band show is a very intimate and memorable concert experience.) Larry has also just finished recording several tracks for Priscilla Ahn's debut album on Concord Records.
KENDALL PAYNE'S "I WILL SHOW YOU LOVE," FEATURED ON GREY'S ANATOMY, HITS NO. 1 ON iTUNES FOLK CHART
Kendall Payne’s song “I Will Show You Love” was used in a montage that closed the October 25th episode of GREY’S ANATOMY (ABC). The resulting iTunes sales vaulted her song to No. 1 and the PAPER SKIN album to No. 1 on the folk genre’s iTunes charts.
