Song info:-The Mothers Daughter ..I wrote the lyrics a while ago but was never totally happy with the melody so wrote the new one this month and added a bridge, I couldn't get the lyrics to work so enlisted the assistance of My myspace friend Craig Herbertson who wrote the lyrics for the bridge in the song so huge thanks to him for that. , Etheldreda was written for Fensong, and accompanied by 'Lord of the Strings'Bryan Causton'playing bazouki , The Reluctant Bride came into being on the M6 and finished off with some stirling work from Red Shoes and a wee dram!!written as just a bit of fun to get through the Winter months The Gloaming Hour is one of the arrangements I did of the beautiful song by the very talented singer/songwriter Craig Herbertson, you can here his original work on his site and my other arrangement, sorry about poor sound quality on my arrangements but technology and me ..enough said !! ... hope to record this again soon with someone who knows what they are doing.
Travelling Man, live recording , just me and my guitar. Dom Spero, me and my Taylor in Bryan and Carolyns Kitchen, Bryan on Bazouki, he has only got the eight fingers !!!

As far as my musical influences go, spent my very early childhood listening to boogie woogie, jazz and swing and a whole lot of classical music ,got radio and moved straight on to hearing just about everything else..loved Yes, The Alan Parsons Project, Gong, Hawkwind, Steely Dan, Genesis and The Groundhogs to mention but a few, sang in a Hawkwind covers band and sung backing vocals for a rockabilly band too when I was about 17,much to the chagrine of my parents, did nothing else until I heard my first live folk music, by accident really in 1992 and have loved it ever since.. and have been very priveliged to work with some amazing musicians over the years..my love of music is hard to explain , I still get swept away by the emotion of a wonderful song or melody or a wonderful singer ..just can't even begin to explain that..been like it all my life..the first piece of music that really got me was Fantasia on Greensleeves by Vaughn Williams when I was about 4,and I was at school and it was embarrasing, the teacher always gave me very odd looks afterwards .I'm not brilliant at deep and meaningful quotes but ''a life without music would be way too quiet''
Many thanks for coming to listen...Penni x

I hope you are ok and having a great day. It is sunny here but cold, very cold. I have spent much of this afternoon making cards once again for Christmas. Got a couple of presents still to wrap then that is it. I cannot believe how quickly Christmas is approaching. It will be over before we know it. Must play some nice Christmas songs later on. Take care.

Hey Penni..."The great differences between voyages rests not in ships but in the people you meet on them." Amelia Burr. The same can be said about MySpace: "The great differences between visits rests not in numbers but in the special people you meet in space." Thanks for being a special friend. Keep on keeping on with that great music. Just me. Hugs, Bruce xx
After you've finished here, you may like to hear this folk-carol on myspace... Poem 230 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (see my blog for details): CHRISTMAS SUNG SIMPLY
As gospellers have said, Beneath signalling skies, On land dusty to tread, A trough in a stable Was the strawy first-bed Of a divine baby - The forgiving Godhead.
A season for new hope - There then and here now; The yuletide of goodwill - There then and here now.
In respect of this chance, Beneath bright or dark skies, Faith's the star that we glance Attending Christ's churches And trying to enhance, With singing and ritual, Our God-loving stance.
Good morning Penni, just sailing by to say hi. Love the music on your site. You are doing good. Have a marvelous Monday and wonderful week ahead. Just me, your friend and fan in the Big Canoe across the pond, Bruce de Brus
