Our Next London Show!!
New Video - 95 Charing Cross Road
This video for '95 Charing Cross Road' was shot over several nights in London at our Indy Awards Showcase @ 229 Club, our rehearsal room, 12 Bar Club & The Luminaire.
A big thank you to Scott Wakeley & Chris Lightwing over at Jazz Hands Films for putting all the chaos together! And Mark Street @ From The Street Productions for the original crowd shots at 12 Bar and Luminaire.
And a super-massive thank you to everyone caught dancing on this film, you know who you are...
TPBR Reviews:
“While the subject matter of their songs are darkly comic; talking mostly of death, lost love, the fear of everyday life and the odd brothel, you can’t help but bounce around with a huge grin on your face as soon as the music starts. They offer stubbornly genre shattering music that winds its way into your brain so that by the end of the song it feels like an old friend. The whole room came alive with the first note, obviously avid followers throwing themselves everywhere along with every immensely catchy song.” - Kathrine Gregory, Editor - Alright London
“I judged 16 bands as part of the UK INDY Music Awards this year, and The Penny Black Remedy were definitely my favourite - which is why we insisted they play our CMU Social. And they didn’t disappoint - combining catchy songs with great performance, they impressed one and all. Can’t wait for the debut album.” Chris Cooke - Editor, CMU Music Network
"The Penny Black Remedy don't really play venues, more like storm them. A powerhouse of a band that reminds you just how powerful live music can be." - Shaun Litton, Promoter ~ Five Families, London, England
"The sizzling mix of punk, ska and of course country is just uber-cool" - Uncle Sallys Magazine, Berlin, Germany
"Their Balkan country punk juggernaut exhumes Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley and Hank Williams, checks Nick Cave's pulse for continued signs of life, and sets all of them go-go dancing till the bars close and the street cleaners come to pick up the bones." - Andy Lowe, Promoter ~ The 12 Bar Club, London, England
"The Penny Black Remedy are a truly international band with a "country gypsy punk sound". Warning: you will start jumping up and down with a big smile on your face when you listen to their music." - Hans Werksman, Blogger ~ Here Comes The Flood, Leiden, Holland
"With enough Gogol Bordello to make them a cult phenomenon and enough Dylan to give them a 50 year shelf life. Its only a matter of time before you see their red star outside every venue in London." - Keir, Promoter ~ Bloody Awful Poetry, London, England

Sunday was fabulous, I think I can guarantee the stage remaining in tact @ the Forum, but who knows, and for that matter who cares you would still be amazing.
Hi guys, thanks for the add. I heard some good stories 'bout Wilco, he's supposed to be some kind of legend here in Nijmegen, the Netherlands... : ) According to Zwerfhond, that is. Hope to hear you play someday, thanks and take care, Marten.
