I am many things to many people: I am loathed by some, loved by many more, but you can rest assured, I am never met with indifference. There are many names I will respond to: The Blue Angel, Penny Whistleton, Rojita, "that loud redhead" (but only at wrestling shows) Pearl, Angel Red, or just plain Angel. Sometimes I'll respond to "Pookie", "Muffin" or "Girlie" but depending on who you are, the response you get will either be my full attention, or a punch in the face. I'm a Burlesque Dancer, professionally trained singer, and am not quite a wrestler.
And remember, no show is too small, or too big, so don't ever be afraid to contact me with your booking requests. I started off performing burlesque in December 2003 with Skin Tight Outta Sight Rebel Burlesque under the name "Cherry Pearl" and was with them for a year (exactly, strangely enough). Then I became Penny Whistleton and performed for almost two years as the head dancer/singer and one of the main characters in Mysterion the Mind Reader's Burlesque and Vaudeville nights. On the side I doubled as the fearsome Luchadora 'The Blue Angel' with Mexican wrestling Surf Rock band The Blue Demons. I am also a regular dancer (and occasional actor) with Gravy Boy productions' Avant-Vardeville, and their lucha play 'El Retardo y Las Luchadoras'. I've appeared in music videos for bands such as The Blue Demons (NEW VIDEO COMMING OUT SOON!) Sloan, The Flashing Lights (Matt Murphy's last band), White Cowbell Oklahoma, and Robin Black and the Intergalactic Rock Stars (I was young and glam rock...don't ask... ). I've been in two documentaries: Markham Street Film's Stacked like Me and Gray Matters' Underground Carnival. I also appeared in Art Litwell's 50's style "stag reel" Parkdale Pin-ups (COPIES AVALIABLE FOR SALE AT ABOVE LINK - ONLY A FEW COPIES LEFT) while I was still Cherry Pearl as well as being interviewed for a few local/student projects (on camera and for research essays... and one Masters Thesis!) . I've also been on CBC radio1's Definately not the Opera, reading a short peice I wrote (it aired on my 18th birthday no less!) and I'm sure I'm forgetting a ton of stuff!
Right now you can be sure to find me performing regularly with my friend Gidget in her Slaves of Seduction Burlesque and comedy show as well as other shows here and there.
Who I'd like to meet: Performers of all stripes and feathers (Burlesque Dancers, Wrestlers, Sideshow freaks, real musicians, etc), Fans, Bookers/Managers/Agents, Photographers, Wrestling trainers, weird intellegent people, Your Mom, Psicosis, and some dood named "Ham Tallent".
