    The lack of respect for the women that stand by their incarcerated loved ones truly is amazing. We live in a country ruled by a government that loves to preach about "family values" while that same government does everything in it's power to undermine those same values on a daily basis. Being a wife, girlfriend, or mother is difficult under the very best of circumstances, yet countless women undertake the incredible burdens that come with loving a prison inmate. You take care of the finances and your home, you raise your children, hold down a job, deal with disapproving friends and family members, sacrifice the intimacies of "normal relationships", and deal with prison politics every day. You do all of this alone...and you do it without compensation simply because you love him. Instead of receiving praise for all you do, you are harassed and ridiculed. Some are forced to deny the very love that keeps them going. Bosses, landlords, and creditors treat you as if you are a criminal by association. Corrections officers treat you like you're just another piece of trash on visiting day. We thought we'd take a minute to tell each and every one of you that you are amazing. You have more family values than most traditional wives and mothers because you keep your families together no matter what the cost... and against incredible odds. Mother Teresa had nothing on you ladies...we salute you. ?
