The Peoria Pathfinders is a ski and snowboard club located in Peoria, Illinios. (I know...I know...where's Peoria? We're just two and a half hours outside of Chicago.)
We are part of the National Brotherhood of Skiers (NBS).
Our mission is to promote the sport of skiing and the enjoyment of winter sports to the African American community in Peoria. We attract a culturally diverse group of winter sports enthusiasts. We also plan year-round athletic and social activities for our members. We uplift the NBS' mission to support athletes of color who will win international and Olympic winter sports competitions representing the US.
One of the important things we do is introduce the sport of skiing to children at an early age. It is the first step in making the sport a life-long endeavor. Our member’s actively participate in the Youth Ski Program as instructors and mentors. We have a special relationship with the Peoria Boys & Girls Club which helps support the activities of our Youth Ski Program.
