I was born and raised in Lima, Peru. I moved to New Orleans in 1979, then moved to Boston in 1981, I studied guitar with Mordy Ferber and Oscar Stagnaro, played with the Leo Islas Quintet, John Payne, Grupo Galaxia,etc. I moved back to New Orleans in 1991 where I took lessons with Hank Mackie,I also took a couple of lessons with the great Richie Zellon, I've played with: Brasilliance, Acoustic Swiftness, Elegant Gypsy, Anaconda, Bob Folse, Fuego, Samba Rio, Casa Samba, Hector Gallardo and his Songo Allstars, Joe Canoura's Jazz Trio, Kike Bonilla's Latin Jazz, Otra, Los Vecinos, Mas Mamones, Mayabeque, Ricardo Crespo, Cubanismo, Mark Bingham's New Orleans Jazz Allstars, Impulso, Shango, Ancestro,John Boutte and The Yockamo Allstars, Patrice Fisher's Arpa,etc.. I've played guitar and bass and arranged and sometimes directed "Fredy Omar con su Banda". I've performed at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival every year for the last 18 years as a freelance musician. I've played with or opened for: Cubanismo, Tito puente, Eddie Palmieri, Ruben Blades, Gilberto SantaRosa, Maraca, Teatro Milenio, Poncho Sanchez, Arturo Sandoval, Los Van Van, Manolin "El Doctor De La Salsa", Ricardo Lemvo, Los Sobrinos Del Juez, Peru Mestizo, Jimmy Buffet's Millenium Party..etc.. I've performed at Cafe Brasil, Cafe Istambul, Blue Nile, House of Blues, Tipitinas, Ray's Over The River, Ray's Boom Boom Room, Snug Harbor, Cafe Satora, Vaquero's, Banditos, Apple Barrel, Tulane university, Loyola University, WWOZ Radio Station, Channel 4, The Voodoo Festival, etc...I'm currently recording songs for an upcoming Cd to be released soon. *************************************************************** *************************************************************** ***************************************************************** Yo naci y creci en Lima, Peru. En 1979 vine a vivir a la ciudad de New Orleans, en 1981 me mude para la ciudad de Boston, alli tome clases de guitarra con Mordy Ferber y con Oscar Stagnaro, tocando guitarra con el quinteto de Leo Islas, John Payne, Grupo Galaxia,etc. En 1991 me mude de regreso a New Orleans, y tome clases con Hank Mackie y tambien tome un par de clases con el gran Richie Zellon, aqui he tocado con: Brasilliance, Acoustic Swiftness, Elegant Gypsy, Anaconda, Bob Folse, Fuego, Samba Rio, Casa Samba, Hector Gallardo and his Songo Allstars, el trio de Joe Canoura (flautista con Ray Barreto), Kike Bonilla's Latin Jazz, Otra, Los Vecinos, Mas Mamones, Mayabeque, Ricardo Crespo, Cubanismo, Mark Bingham's New Orleans Jazz Allstars, Impulso, Shango, Ancestro, John Boutte and The Yockamo Allstars, Patrice Fisher's Arpa,etc.. He tocado guitarra y bajo y hecho arreglos y a veces dirigido "Fredy Omar Con Su Banda". Tambien he tenido actuaciones en el Festival de Jazz de New Orleans todos los ultimos 18 a�os como musico independiente para diferentes agrupaciones musicales. He tocado o abierto show para: Cubanismo, Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri, Ruben Blades, Gilberto Santarosa, Maraca, Teatro Milenio, Poncho Sanchez, Arturo Sandoval,Los Van Van, Manolin "El Doctor De La Salsa", Ricardo Lemvo, Los Sobrinos Del Juez, en Boston hace poco con Peru Mestizo, en Los Angeles en la fiesta del milenio de Jimmy Buffet...etc.. He tocado en Cafe Brasil, Cafe Istambul, House of Blues, Tipitinas, Ray's Over The River, Blue Nile, Snug Harbor, Cafe Satora, Vaquero's, Ray' Boom Boom Room, Banditos, Apple Barrel, Tulane University, Loyola University, DBA, WWOZ Radio Station, Canal 4, The Voodoo Festival,etc.... Actualmente estoy grabando canciones para un Cd nuevo que saldra a la venta pronto.
