I would love to sing “happy songs”,
but i write about the stuff around me.
It’s hard enough to tell it like it is,
and it’s hard to talk about what you can’t see.
Don’t know if I could if things went well,
sometimes i think i get strength from misery.
Maybe i’ll rise renewed from the ashes,

please why don’t you just give it a rest?
Won’t feel good to try and sell that play,
like a vegetarian butcher saying his meat is the best.
So here is what i’ll do for you,
i’ll bring a song with a happy melody.
But nonetheless the words and stories
are so much more important to me.
