A huge step towards reducing pollution is transportation. I don't drive - so that's covered, but what about those huge trucks and even bigger planes that transport all those food items to the grocery store from which I shop? Well aparently 80% of tomatoes are picked while they're green - which is a scary thought. They should be picked when they're red. And it's not hard to grow tomatoes, so here is a challenge to eat as much stuff as possible that's MOSTLY or COMPLETELY from your local farms. Try it out. You're helping yourself and all those sick kids with asthma. 100 Mile Diet
