perishing mankind was founded in may 2001 and is made up of the joint skills of holger, georg, gernot, paul and beat!e. right from the beginning we invested a load of energy, time and money in this project and got it going with playing lots of shows all over austria as well as in neighbouring countries (ger, slo, hu, it).
in march 2005 we signed a record deal and recorded our first full-length album "fall of men", which was released via black lagoon records in july 2005. responses to the material where highly positive, both from reviewers and audience, and we decided to hold straight on, writing new songs and intensifying our live-presence.
in summer 2006 we signed a contract with noisehead records, and in november we recorded our second full-length. “wonderland”. it was released march 2007, and the feedback on it came up with all expectations. with performing the new material on some bigger events in summer (eg. metalcamp07) we managed to broaden the number of our fans as well as our own horizon.
in 2008 we performed a lot of great shows (metalcamp, summer nights festival, rocky mountains festival, stp metal weekend, just to mention a few). unfortunately, we split up with our drummergirl in september 2008, but fortunately we soon found an appropriate new drummer. but despite all this, we were quite busy in writing new material and have some really cool new tunes, which we will record till summer of 2009.
so, look out for the yet untitled successor of WONDERLAND in autumn 2009
