In a time in heavy music where it would seem to be wrong to have only one guitar player, play two finger power cords, play Pentatonic solos, not have any dropped tuned breakdowns, or even have band name that doesn’t have less than five words in the title, to PERISHMENT, it never felt so right. This 4 piece hailing from the sweltering desert of the Coachella Valley, PERISHMENT prides themselves on playing a particular brand of heavy music that has a strong focus on songwriting, rounded out by timeless modern grooves, hooks, and riffs,without selling themselves to the modern trends of today. Fans of Black Sabbath to Behemoth will be satisfied.
Originally formed by Ex-Ritual Hatred/Sangre guitar player Bobby D. Taffolla in March 2005, PERISHMENT was put on hiatus shortly after forming when Bobby D. joined Riverside's Sangre for a 9 month stint of live shows but then returned to reformed PERISHMENT in May 2006. And with the addition in September 2006 of former Meenagorp drummer Devin "God Of Thunder" Jay of Spokane, WA on board as well as our bass player Aaron Ramson, Crematorium, rounded off by former Innerwar vocalist Ryan Barneck, PERISHMENT released their debut CD “Cult of Disaster” on September 30th, 2008.
PERISHMENT is now booking shows in and around the Southern California area to support "Cult of Disaster". The metal band you have been waiting to hear is here, no fashions, cores, or trends!
