About PERMISSION TO ROCK - THE ULTIMATE TRIBUTE BAND

MySpace Layouts

Permission To Rock is one the foremost rock tribute acts currently playing the circuit today. Playing songs from some of the worlds greatest rock acts, with precision and accuracy second to none. This Midland based five piece having been amazing crowds for the last 4 years – with an explosive wall of sound – that is not only a tribute but a compliment to bands whose song they perform.

Photobucket

In 2005, Permission To Rock were formed with sole purpose of bringing Classic Rock anthems back to where they belong, local live music venues. So Gaz Martin (vocals), Paul Sambuca (guitars), Rob Lloyd (guitars/keyboards), Martin Davis (bass) and Mark Drums (drums) delivered a show unlike many had seen before, raising the roof on many a rock venue as they went.

When asked to support ex - Guns N' Roses drummer, Steven Adler's band Adler's Appetite, Permission To Rock set the bar higher, for other rock covers bands to try and follow.

Then in April 2008, Rob Lloyd decided to part company with band. It was then that guitar virtuoso Stevie-Boy of punk rock tribute outfit PUNK'D joined the band. His eclectic style and onstage presence carving a brand new chapter into Permission to Rocks history book! And off they went again entertaining the masses with there innovative style.

But disaster struck later that same year when enigmatic frontman Gaz Martin through in the towel in late September due to unforeseeable personal circumstances, so Ashley Cooper of Deft Leppard was drafted in to hold the reigns for any outstanding dates 2008.

So the search began in late 2008, for a temporary frontman, to see the band through some important dates. Permission To Rock knew Gaz Martin's' shoes weren't going to be easy to fill, but after several phone calls a temporary frontman was found in the guise of Adrian Marx, a seasoned professional and classically trained vocalist, who'd worked with the likes of Bob Catley & Tony Clarkin (Magnum), Tony Mills (Shy/TNT) and Pete Boot & Simon Lees (Budgie) to name but a few.

So now as Gaz Martin's' returns to his post of fronting one of the hardest working bands in the UK today, Permission To Rock bring you an all new show. Now with more power, more energy, more swagger …they really are bigger, faster, harder then ever before – PERMISSION TO ROCK truly are the Ultimate Tribute to THE MONSTERS OF ROCK!!!!

Thank you for being our friend.

This is probably Christopher Lee's last album: he will be 88 soon - although with his energy, he might well reach 100!! :)

We do appreciate your support. If you haven't already done so, please check the samples we have uploaded for "Charlemagne: By the Sword and the Cross".

Hey PERMISSION TO ROCK
If you have a minute, please come check out the new song Alex Hirsch wrote after reading Einstein's private manuscripts and quoting his memoirs directly. The song is called, The Stormy Seas of Time and features Ken Oak on the Cellos, Bionik on the Drums and Production, and of course, Alex Hirsch on the guitars pianos and singing.
And remember, all it takes is 3 little dollars to get any of his full albums at www.keywinsproductions.com.

A fair price for up to 17 songs! Finally, good music that is priced correctly, not another record company rip off!

Devils Creek - Bullfrog Blues CD Out Now!

Devils Creek - Bullfrog Blues CD Out Now!

Oct 9 2009 9:11 PM

We've just added four new tracks to myspace completed at the Weekend, with Phil Innes at the controls. These are the first recordings to feature Alan Ibbotson on drums, and we are all really happy with the results. It's a shame that we've not been able to get back into the studio before this but we've been able to build up new material in the meantime.

The timing was perfect as we all went down with Swine Flu after the session, with Guy just able to complete the last vocals before admitting defeat!.

"Judgement Day" is a totally retro song with a very 70's (complete with cowbell) Bad Company-Free - AC/DC vibe with a storming solo from Guy at the end.

"I Know" - Very fast with a great hook - very unlike anything we've done before, a sort of punk/blues take on things - great vocal and lyrics. The opening section is from a German radio broadcast being picked up from Guy's heavily overdriven Peavey 5150 valve amp - can anyone translate? :)

"Chains" takes us back to our blues roots, with Guy sounding rather like John Lee Hooker in the opening section, before the song hurtles into a very Led Zeppelin style meltdown, complete with some suitably wailing guitar.

"Salvation" is a slowie with added Hammond! - some nice guitar licks too! - almost prog rock at the opening section (reminds me of Andy Latimer and Camel), before building around a very moody bluesy set of chord changes into some very epic choruses. Phil added the keyboard parts - and we got a bit carried away - sounded almost like "Highway Star" for a while - But Phil very diplomatically as ever got us back on track. We argued for weeks about this song prior to the recording - as to whether or not it made the grade - I'm glad we kept it!
