Genel
Our work ranges from the athletic, driving and rhythmic attack of Plunge to the reflective and intimate gestures of Echoes. The addition of the aerial work has added an element of suprise and fascintaion while maintaining a sense of serenity and beauty. However, let's not forget about Rebecca's need to explore the mysterious nature of roaches!
As Aharen Richardson of NONzine described after visiting a Perpetual Motion rehearsal,"The dancers’ energy and presence fill the entire room as they take turns wrapping the fabric around their bodies and bending in impossible ways. Soft fluid movements as they weave through the air are combined with disjointed almost doll-like movements on the floor, transforming the dancers into echoes of Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring."
Müzik
We like to work with a variety of music. Some of our past work has been perfomed to Aphex Twin, Radiohead, Meredith Monk, The Reverend Horton Heat, Drums and Tuba, The Pixies, Phillip Glass, Underworld, 1 Speed Bike, Hossam Ramzy. We LOVE to collaborate with musicians. In 2003, we did a live show in OKC with Drums and Tuba. They were so fantastic to work with and were very open to doing a live improv.

The core mission of Perpetual Motion/Modern Dance Oklahoma, Inc. is to stimulate and inspire cultural development in Oklahoma through modern dance performance, education and choreography. Perpetual Motion is also committed to creating a collaborative network of artists and institutions to establish and sustain a unique multidisciplinary arts performance and education program for the community.
Company Overview
Perpetual Motion is a company-based non-profit organization that offers several performance opportunities and educational programs annually throughout Oklahoma. We perform established works and create original dance pieces that explore a variety of artistic and aesthetic ideas. Our repertory is energetic, whimsical, and unpredictable. The addition of aerial dance to our repertory has added new dimensions to our work that are daring and surprising.
In addition to producing annual spring and fall concerts, Perpetual Motion performs at events such as the University of Central Oklahoma’s Choreography Concert Plus, the Oklahoma City Festival of the Arts and “Momentum” sponsored by the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition. In August 2006, Perpetual Motion organized the first annual Oklahoma Contemporary Dance Festival which brought together local dance companies and student performers from the Oklahoma City area, as well as regional guest choreographers. One of the student performers, Taylor Munholland described, "The Oklahoma Contemporary Dance Festival brought out the true dancer within, bringing my dancing to new heights and achievements I never thought
possible!"

SPAMED! Can you ever forgive me? If so, please vote for me!
I am in Round Two of The TRCoA Unsigned Artist Competition. Help me get to Round Three by clicking my face and voting for me!
If I’m in the top 4 I get to play a showcase for record executives and could win 100 free hours in the studio.
If I were selected, it would really help me rock some faces off, please take a second and vote.
Thanks!
