Perpetual Dawn was created in January of 2009 as an exploration into my musical abilities and tastes, with the intention of bettering and extending them. The starting point for this task involved reflecting on my previous musical explorations (mainly melodic death metal/speed metal), and directing it more towards my long-held interest in folk music, and in particular, the diverse forms of folk metal.
The beauty of diversity in music, especially that of metal, is that every style has its own unique characteristics to offer the listener. Therefore, the first demo songs were created by combining my metal taste (and my vinyl collection), and up to this point contain the core sound in my exploration. With no intention (or money) to produce/print "proper" releases, self-recorded tracks were printed and given to few friends. This myspace was then created and the same (slightly better mixed) songs were posted up. Positive responses from friends and myspace listeners alike, relieved me of the doubts that any musician has of their own creations.
From this I decided that the songs deserved some dignity in the form of decent production (and mixing skills!). To answer this call, I gained the help from my friend/former band drummer Sebastian Hudson and Dénouement studios.
-Currently in the process of recording an EP/CD with Dénouement Studios.
