Incredibly versatile, Perpetual Motion now has two exciting shows. You can choose Perpetual Swing, an exciting show of gypsy and vintage swing jazz, Perpetual Motion’s original acoustic jazz, or a combination of the two.
With our gypsy jazz show your toes will be tapping and your fingers will be snapping to favorites like Sweet Georgia Brown, Oh Lady Be Good, All of Me, Satin Doll, and Minor Swing, plus great original gypsy jazz tunes! Guaranteed to put a smile on your face, gypsy jazz is constantly attracting new fans while continuing to delight music lovers the world over. Gypsy jazz is a wonderful blend of gypsy harmonies and melodic elements with a swing jazz feel. Traditional gypsy music, vintage jazz tunes and original music make up the repertoire.
Perpetual Motion’s uniquely individual style springs from their love of all types of music, from jazz to rock with stops for latin, world music, and bluegrass. Their musical storytelling is inspired by their travels, people they meet, and the wonderful world around them. Audiences can’t help themselves as they are pulled into the pair’s joi de vivre, children are dancing and toes are tapping as the duo takes them on a musical journey.
Each of Josie and Tom’s compositions are uniquely personal, and they share the stories behind the songs, giving their music a connection to their listeners. They are veterans of the festival and summer concert scene, but connecting with audiences at house concerts is their favorite!
