A bio…I’ve been asked to include this so here goes….
I didn’t start playing guitar till after college…actually probably a couple of years after college……I later started with playing open mic nites at coffee houses in Columbia and Greenville.
I started playing music out, from of the suggestion from longtime friend of mine Edwin McCain for who I am tremendously grateful for his help and guidance.
While living in Charleston I would pull his guitar out of his case and begin playing it without any respect or care…I later understood this to be not very cool.
So, one day he walks in with hundred dollar guitar and said, you can pay me back later....good luck with that .....which guided me down the long road to playing music of where I am today.......
My song writing reflects from the hearts of my children to the inspiration and support from my friends.
I try and seek cover songs that are fun for me to sing and often have a certain personal meaning through the delivery of them. My re-delivery of covers stem from my interpretation of them.
I list my circle of musical influences to include artists such as James and Ben Taylor, Phish, Panic, Edwin McCain, Rickie Lee Jones, Ben Harper, Beatles,Stevie Wonder, Dave Mathews, and Sting. As for local and regional artists I hold great admiration and respect for Spencer Rush, Uncle Mingo, The Piedmont Boys, Will Mckibbon and David Wilcox.
