Perseverance is formed by two METU students: Deniz Ülger and Emir Akkaya. The aim of this men was to cover Death's legendary album
of 'The Sound of Perseverance'. Mehmet Kerim Yücel from melodic death metal band 'Deep Inside' took the drums, and they began to
practicing for an unpredictable time period, which is lasted after a year. By the time they worked with several bass players and
vocals like Samih Gündoğdu and Noyan Tokgözoğlu, just because of several reasons they have experienced lots of line-up changes.
But the original line-up is with Emre Sancak at vocals and Cevret Ertürk at bass guitar.
Perseverance uses their different musical
experiences from their own members, which include progressive rock/metal, death metal, core, or even classical music. Perseverance's
genre can not be described by only two words maybe, but members describe their music simply as 'Progressive Death Metal' which is
inspired by Death, Nevermore, Quo Vadis, Necrophagist, Opeth, Gojira, Lamb of God, and Dream Theater. Now, Perseverance is a band,
trying express their music as an extraordinary sound experience for listeners who get bored from lots of music which has not the
to make people feel difference.
