Cute and dirty / indie crossover electronica / riotous indie dance / Gargantuan funked-up beats / taste the sweetness then choke on the bitterness pop kids
It's also said...
Foals, The Rapture, Heaven 17, Gang of Four, (mid-period) Talking Heads, We Are Scientists, Klaxons, Infadels, The Anniversary, Editors, Interpol, Girls Aloud, Joe Strummer, Gram Parsons, The Police, The Rakes, (1st album) The Killers, The Velvet Underground
Angular guitar, compulsive bass, seething electronics, forceful vocals coupled with a storming backbeat, P.S.I. are young, modern and international London. Their debut five-song mini-album, What You Want (now on iTunes and rated 12/13 on Room Thirteen), is high-energy post-indie electro-junk - think MGMT, DIOYY and The Clash in a "Rapturesque" style.
2007 saw them earn support slots with Alabama 3, Simple Kid, So So Modern and The Heavy and in 2008 they billed with Olympus Mons, Shapes and Maths Class! The band also toured Sardinia, recorded a live session with URB Radio and had a half-hour feature on BBC West Midlands.
Skip to 2009 and P.S.I. have been trying out new material and winning new fans North and South, supporting Madskull at Ivory Blacks in Glasgow and LA band, Rumspringa, at Jeff Leach's popular Fiesta night at The Macbeth in Hoxton. This April they were shortlisted for the Red Stripe Music Awards and the Indie Idle competition run by Gaymers Camden Crawl, public votes getting them through to the last 10 so far...
