Werner authored three books: The Dice-Playing God (UPA, 1992) Compassion, A New Philosophy of the Other, (Rodopi, 2002) Compassionate Thinking, An Introduction to Philosophy (Kendall&Hunt, 2006) He has published numerous articles.

Werner was involved in numerous "happenings" in Europe during the 60's and upon returning to the US he formed the Whole Art Theater in Kalamazoo, MI. Since he has acted in a variety of productions.

Werner stars in the upcoming philosophical film, Light Denied, which combines fiction and documentary. Werner had a prominent role in the 2001 feature comedy, Urban Ground Squirrels. Mr. Krieglstein is also an accomplished screenwriter.
