About me: What is GuluWalk?
The original GuluWalk started in July of 2005 with just two people trying to better understand the ordeal of the
children of northern Uganda, a country ravaged by more than two decades of war. Since then, GuluWalk has grown
into an impassioned worldwide movement for peace. In 2007 alone, on the third annual GuluWalk Day, over 30,000
people in 100 cities in 16 countries took to the streets to urge the world to support peace in northern Uganda. To
date, GuluWalkers have raised over $1-million to provide education and rehabilitation to Uganda’s youth.
Gulu Walk in Perth, WA
This year is turning out to be a busy one, and GuluWalk is quickly approaching. With GuluWalk again set to be the
largest and most powerful one-day event focused on supporting the children of northern Uganda, our goals have
not changed. We are committed to fighting for peace, to making a stand for Uganda’s forgotten children and to
providing a platform for citizens worldwide to lend their voices.
I want to thank you for taking the fi rst steps in committing yourself to GuluWalk this year. The event remains a grassroots, volunteer-driven movement that couldn’t take place without the constant support that you provide.
